Star premiere of Three Elegies for Nine Clarinets, a major new work by GAVIN BRYARS (composer of "Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet" and "The Sinking of the Titanic"). Written "as a gift of gratitude" for ROGER HEATON. All instruments - 4 Bb clarinets, 2 alto clarinets, 2 bass clarinets and 1 contra-bass clarinet - played by Heaton.

Important new recording of STEVE REICH's New York Counterpoint for 11 clarinets.

ENRICO MORRICONE's music to the enchanting film "Cinema Paradiso" in an arrangement for clarinets.

Six other works, including "Stone:Wind:Rain:Sun" for 2 clarinets by CHRISTOPHER FOX; Bass Clarinet and Percussion by MORTON FELDMAN; "Like He Never Was", a new work by GLYN PERRIN; 25 Karwa-Melodien for 2 clarinets by WALTER ZIMMERMAN and Rational Melody No.21 by TOM JOHNSON. "Three Elegies" is the music for a new dance work, "The Glass Blew In", toured by Siobhan Davies.
