Begutachtung: Stravinsky’s concerts were a genuine feast for Russian listeners. Six concerts four in Moscow and two in Leningrad presented Stravinsky’s early works and compositions from 1930 1940. The most famous was the ballet Petrushka, which was staged for the first time in 1911 and remained one of his most popular works. Orpheus was created after an idea by George Balanchine, one of the greatest choreographers ever and an incomparable interpreter of Stravinsky’s music on the ballet stage. The work of the same period, Ode, was composed in memoriam of Sergei Koussevitzky s wife, who died in 1942. The short but spectacular play Fireworks was composed by Stravinsky as a wedding present for his friends Maximilian Steinberg and Nadezhda Rimsky-Korsakova, daughter of the great composer. 16.00 eur Temporarily out of stock |
