Eight Traditional English Carols
Six English Folk Songs
TwelveTraditional Carols from Herefordshire
Vaughan Williams had begun collecting folk-songs and carols in 1903. Many Folk-songs and Carols were collected in the early 1900s by Vaughan Williams and Ella Mary Leather who visited local gypsies in Herefordshire where together they rescued traditional songs that may well have disappeared forever.
These songs and carols remind us of our childhood and the power and beauty of songs sung by those generations long before our own.
Australian baritone Derek Welton is a very much sought-after concert artist who has performed at the Barbican, Cadogan Hall, Royal Albert Hall, The Sage Gateshead, Bridgewater Hall, Symphony Hall, Birmingham and the Wigmore. Iain Burnside once again accompanies for Albion Records, who enjoys a unique reputation as pianist and broadcaster.

Founded in 2008, the new Choir of Merton College, Oxford is led by newly appointed Organist and fulltime Director of Music Benjamin Nicholas, and Reed Rubin Director of Music Peter Philips. Subcollection: Choral and OrganA significant Christmas release: Geoffrey Webber has put together a fantastic programme which Delphian had fun recording in the glorious acoustics of St Anne's Cathedral in Belfast. Fresh from their 2009 Gramophone Editor's Choice, Webber's choir has put together an intriguing programme in which medieval works illuminate contemporary settings by some of the UK's finest living composers. From the plangent innocence of Sweeney's The Innumerable Christ to the shining antiphony of Burrell's Creator of the Stars of Night, this selection will seduce. Caius, as we've come to expect, combine polish with verve, Webber's meticulous attention to detail floodlit by the bathing acoustics of St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast.
