Alexander Tsfasmann and His Jazz Orchestra: Sounds of Jazz
Alexander Tsfasman is the most popular name in the history of Soviet jazz, one of the pioneers of this type of musical art. The orchestra he created in 1926 performed successfully in Moscow. Along with bravura foxtrots, jazz performed lyrical pieces that dominated its repertoire.
Closely following the development of world jazz, Tsfasman and his ensemble in the 1930s provided examples of stylistic varieties of jazz - from traditional Dixieland to modern swing, while demonstrating a high professional level of performance.
Tsfasman came up with a unique, unique style of performance, combining sharp rhythm with virtuoso pianistic mastery, delighting listeners with numerous and varied solo orchestral pieces and songs, piano compositions, sounding accompanied by a rhythm group.
