Peter Rhodes studied music at the University of Durham and Jesus College, Cambridge, and later with the great Polish pianist Ryszard Bakst at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In addition to many solo engagements, he has specialised in operatic and instrumental accompaniment, giving major recitals with artists such as Dame Kiri te Kanawa and Benjamin Luxon. He is currently Senior Lecturer in Music at South Down College in Hampshire.

Kolekce: Choral CollectionPodkolekce: Choir In its third CD the Sofia Boys' Choir presents sacred music for choir and organ by Mozart, Gounod and Zelioli. With the musicianship already known to the fans of the choir, the boys sing the Masses by Gounod and Zelioli, an Italian composer and organ player from the first half of the 20th century. The international choral competition in Lecco is established in his name and the First Prize of this competition was awarded to the Sofia Boys' Choir. Zelioli's mass Laudate Dominum omnes gentes, as well as Messa facile et melodica are sung by the choir with exquisiteness of sound and crystal-clear voices, both qualities required by this style of music. The conductor, Adriana Blagoeva has not only fathomed the musical essence of the West-European ecclesiastic singing, but she has added liveliness and expressiveness to the pieces, revealing to the listener the deep meaning of the religious texts. Thus, everyone who hears the pieces included in this CD will feel not only the satisfaction from their musical perfection, |

Kolekce: Choral CollectionPodkolekce: Choir The CD includes 23 songs performed by the female chamber choir founded in 1966 and bearing the name of the great choral conductor Vassil Arnaudov after his death. A number of the songs have been practised and sung many times under his direction and it is in this sense that the CD is of retrospective and commemorative character. The ensemble demonstrates its great scope of repertoire, performing works from the Renaissance, Classicism, and the 20th century. Many of the works have long become emblematic for the choir. Kolekce: Vocal and Opera CollectionPodkolekce: Voices and Orchestra The CD contains some of the favourite and frequently performed tenor arias from operas by Verdi, Rossini, Puccini. Alongside with them Oghnyan Nikolov has included in the programme several duets. Having started his career in the last decade of the 20th century, Oghnyan Nikolov became famous as a master of interpreting such trying parts as Scipione, Idomeneo and Titus, all of them from operas by Mozart. An amazing balance of registers and technical skills, combined with musical talent and beautiful voice are features characteristic of the tenor, who has already become popular not only in his native country but also in a number of European opera theatres. Of special merit are his interpretations of Baroque and Early-classical music. At the same time the density of his voice enables him to perform tenor parts from operas by Verdi and Puccini, which makes the release of particular artistic value.
