The music of the great Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is rich in variety of feelings and inner turmoil taking the form of unique images: the composer's arduous life journey and extensive aesthetic experience allowed him to reflect with great skill the truly thundering tragicalness and ravishing folkloric and secular landscapes along with the deepest lyrical and dramatic intricacies. It is to the brightest, most nostalgic pages of his work that the “Children's Album”, Op. 39, revealing the fragile charm of memories of the tender age, and the string sextet “Memories of Florence”, Op. 70, composed under the impression of a trip to Florence, one of the pearls of Italy, belong.
These opuses are presented on the disc in an arrangement for chamber orchestra performed by Igor Bulakhov. With its most full-sounding texture, the “Memories of Florence” reveals a creative rethinking granting in the “Children’s Album” with its beautiful and melodious timbres a unique understanding, which reveals this original piano cycle in a completely new way. Dear audience will enjoy these wonderful works performed by the “Seasons of the year” chamber orchestra under the direction of Vladislav Bulakhov - a conductor whose interpretations always brilliantly reach absolute technical, stylistic and artistic heights.
