Instrumental cycles with underlying vibes of nature and life at different times of the year have always been most enchanting and original in music. The secret appeal of such opuses is by no means complicated: they give amazedness by various peculiar images represented in sounds with the same certainty with which true admiration arises when looking at the beautiful paintings of Levitan or Schikaneder for example. In musical art, one of the most valuable examples of such captivating beauty is “The Seasons” by one of the greatest geniuses of Russian music - Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky.
The disc presents this legendary piano cycle in an arrangement for chamber orchestra performed by Igor Bulakhov. Indeed, this remarkable composer and conductor has broken new ground in this opus approaching the most famous and, you'd think, absolutely explored music through the most expressive sound palette of the string section. Along with the creatively reinterpreted cycle, the dear audience will be treated to the B-Flat Major Quartet - an unknown to the general public pearl of Tchaikovsky’s early work. The entire program will be performed by the "Seasons of the Year" chamber orchestra under the direction of consummate Vladislav Bulakhov.
