“Five sides of fantasy” is a CD presenting pianist Alexander Sonderegger’s point of view on the genre of musical fantasy in the context of different eras and styles. The term “fantasy” has the meaning of “improvisation” or “freedom”, which allowed the five composers included in the repertoire to express themselves through this genre, continually endowing the pieces with new significance. As an outcome, every composer referring to a fantasy is able to operate with its endless potential of creativity in his own way. It creates multiplicity within the central idea of freedom. This exact principle is what became the main motive of Alexander Sonderegger’s program, which developed into a solo CD “Five sides of fantasy”.

Sonderegger Duo: Eduard Sonderegger, violin / Alexander Sonderegger, piano

Sonderegger Duo
Brothers Alexander and Eduard Sonderegger have been performing together as the Sonderegger Duo for 20 years and are prizewinners of the Stuttgart Carl Wendling Competition for chamber music. The two musicians take over the professional family tradition and have devoted themselves to chamber music for violin and piano since early childhood. The repertoire of the duo consists of works from different epochs: from early classical to modern music.
Alexander and Eduard Sonderegger completed their concert exams at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart with distinction. As chamber music partners, they were advised by several important musicians, such as Anke Dill, Gerhard Schulz, Christine Busch, Stefan Fehlandt, Péter Nagy, Florian Wiek, Ralf Gothóni and Kirill Gerstein.
The most important performances of the duo include the double concerto by Mendelssohn-Bartholdy with the orchestra "Sinfonietta Lentua" in the Lentua Hall in the city of Kuhmo/Finland, a chamber music evening in the Maison Heinrich Heine in Paris and several joint concert performances with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of the City of Murmansk/Russia. In 2016 and 2018, they performed at the «Rising Stars!» festival in Stuttgart. Sponsored by the Helga Drews Foundation, the musicians made their debut in 2022 at the Gasteig in Munich.
Alexander and Eduard Sonderegger are senior lecturers for piano and violin at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart.

CANTABILE - The London Quartet - release their new album on Champs Hill Records - Here with Special Digital Bonus Track - Flash Bang Wallop!

Well known as wonderful entertainers, the four singers of Cantabile here share some more serious and hauntingly beautiful songs.

Released in 2014, the 100th anniversary of the start of "The Great War", this is a programme sung from the heart, inspired by the dual themes of love and of war.

The disc seeks to capture the heartfelt emotion of the time: young men sent off to the front, and those they left behind.

Featuring works from 17 composers, both a cappella songs and a number accompanied by the renowned pianist Malcolm Martineau.

Amongst the 18 songs on this disc are Elgar's As Torrents In Summer, Poulenc's Bleuet, Vaughan Williams' Silent Noon, Bridge's The Last Invocation, and many other achingly beautiful songs, with music by Haydn, Barley, Pearsall, Chopin and Quilter and others.
