Collection: Romantic Period Subcollection: OboeThe musical world gave West European romanticism one of its most grandiose leaps into a completely new dimension: never before this era had art delved so deeply into the subtlest, alluring in its fleetingness and elusiveness, space - the space of human feelings and emotions. The truly vibrant and soul-stirring presentation of it is undoubtedly due to the numerous artistic opportunities that were discovered in the nineteenth century: the harmonic palette expanded at a very high pace, new forms and genres were born and modified, various musical instruments were technically improved.
These wonders of the romantic era will be presented to you in the most vivid and exciting way by Oleg Yakubovich on his new disc: the outstanding virtuoso oboe player has prepared for the dear audience a fascinating program consisting of works by West European composers who lived and worked in different times of this era. Even the most sophisticated listener will certainly be delighted by the sound achieved by a rather non-trivial ensemble of oboe, French horn and piano in no less peculiarly embodied musical genres. |

Collection: Romantic Period Subcollection: PianoThe trumpet in actual practice: sooner serves the goal rather than art. That may explain why the major Romantic composers ignored the trumpet as a solo-instrument in the 19th century, although the technical possibilities of the instrument had increased enormously due to the invention of the valves. In the orchestra literature, the trumpet was always given the role of signal-horn; the versatile musical possibilities remained unutilised for a long time.
The collection of composers on this CD nevertheless wrote beautiful music, which gave the trumpet the opportunity to demonstrate itself in the role of sensory and subtle soloinstrument. The trumpet concertos of Beethoven, Mendelssohn or Strauss that were never composed are somewhat compensated with this pieces of music by less known composers. |
